1. Scope
These terms set out the conditions for using the Hanmadi app, synchronization, subscription restoration, and other related services provided by Beyond Imagine. The service is intended for users aged 13 and over. The app does not ask for or store age, date of birth, or age group. The intended age range follows the information displayed in each store. A minor must obtain the consent of a parent or legal guardian before buying a paid subscription.
2. Accounts
You can study all courses for free, in sequence, without signing in to a registered account. Buying Pass and restoring an unlinked purchase in the same store also do not require that sign-in. Signing in with Apple, Google, or LINE lets you transfer learning records between devices or link a purchase to an account. Once first linked, a purchase belongs exclusively to that Hanmadi account. You must then sign in to that account, including after restoration in the same store. Deleting the account does not let you link the purchase to another account. You are responsible for properly managing your authentication methods and devices.
3. Learning content
The service supports learning and does not guarantee specific learning outcomes, passing an exam, or conversational ability. You must not reproduce, redistribute, sell, or analyze the content, audio, illustrations, or software for purposes other than personal learning.
4. Subscriptions and payments
Hanmadi Pass is a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription offered through the Apple App Store or Google Play. All courses can be studied for free, in sequence. Starting a new task in the free course requires an online check. While Pass is active, you can keep learning without energy-related waiting or ads, and study prepared lessons offline. Monthly and annual plans offer the same features.
First-time Pass users may be offered a 7-day free trial on the monthly or annual plan if they meet conditions set by the Operator. The free trial is limited to one per person. Eligibility is determined by the Operator and the store based on your Hanmadi account, your store purchase history and device-check mechanisms provided by Apple and Google. When the free trial ends, the price of the selected plan is charged through the store where you subscribed, and the subscription then renews automatically. If you cancel in that store’s subscription management during the free trial, you will not be charged (on the App Store, cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial ends). If you cancel during the free trial, you can still use Pass until the free trial ends. Attempts to obtain the free trial repeatedly by improper means are prohibited, and if such attempts are confirmed we may decline to offer the free trial.
Before you confirm your subscription, we display the selected plan, available content, billing period, total charge in local currency, auto-renewal conditions, and information about the next renewal. The exact price, taxes, billing date, and renewal conditions are those shown on the store’s purchase confirmation screen.
Auto-renewal continues until you cancel in the subscription management screen of the store where you subscribed. Uninstalling the app or deleting your Hanmadi account alone does not cancel the store subscription. Before deleting your account, use “Manage Pass” in Settings to complete the necessary steps in that store. Access after cancellation, refunds, and reversals are governed by the store’s conditions and applicable law.
Subscription entitlements correctly linked to the same Hanmadi account can be used on supported iOS and Android devices. Billing and cancellation are managed by the original store. The same store transaction cannot be transferred to multiple Hanmadi accounts.
5. Prohibited use
Fraudulent proof of purchase, bypassing access controls, disrupting the service, using someone else’s account, and use that violates laws or third-party rights are prohibited.
6. Changes and suspension
We may change or temporarily suspend the service for safety, legal requirements, store requirements, or maintenance. Important changes to subscription content or pricing will be announced in advance by reasonable means, following store procedures and applicable law.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for damage caused by force majeure, failures of telecommunications providers, stores, or authentication providers, or inadequate management of your device or authentication information. Rights that cannot be limited or excluded under the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, including Japan’s Consumer Contract Act, are not affected.
8. Termination
You can delete your account in Settings. If you use the app without signing in, request deletion through the in-app inquiry form. After Pass expires, learning history and references to saved expressions are retained, and you can continue free learning in sequence. Expiry ends the Pass benefits of no waiting, no ads, and offline learning. Stored content outside the currently authorized free learning scope cannot be used. If misuse is confirmed, synchronization features may be suspended to the extent necessary. Entitlements for transactions whose refunds or reversals are confirmed by the store are revoked based on their latest status.

10. Additional terms for copies obtained from an app store
10.1 Common to every store
This section applies to copies of Hanmadi obtained from an app store and prevails over any conflicting provision of these terms. Its substance applies equally whether the copy was obtained from the Apple App Store or from Google Play.
These terms are concluded between the Operator and you. The company operating the app store (the “Store”) is not a party to them, and the Operator, not the Store, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
The Operator is solely responsible for any maintenance and support services for the app. The Store has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services.
The Operator, not the Store, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to an applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
In the event of any third-party claim that the app or your possession and use of it infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, the Operator, not the Store, is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
When using the app you must comply with the terms of service of the store you obtained it from and with any other applicable third-party terms.
Questions, complaints or claims concerning the app should be directed to the Operator at the contact details given in section 9.
10.2 Apple App Store
In this subsection, “Apple” means Apple Inc. and its subsidiaries.
The Operator grants you a non-transferable licence to use the app on any Apple-branded product that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules of the App Store Terms of Service.
If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to any warranty are the Operator’s sole responsibility.
Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section, and upon your acceptance of these terms Apple has the right, and is deemed to have accepted the right, to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
10.3 Google Play
In this subsection, “Google” means Google LLC and its affiliates.
The Operator grants you a non-transferable licence to use the app on any Android device that you own or control, subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
Billing, cancellation and refunds are handled under Google Play’s policies. Google is not responsible for the content of the app and gives no warranty in respect of it.
Google and Google’s affiliates are third-party beneficiaries of this section and have the right to enforce these terms against you as third-party beneficiaries.
